Shabaka was released in 2001, and received excellent reviews from much of the local press after being released under the Sonar label, original home to artists such as Mohamad Mounir, Mostafa Amar, and others.
Omar has also released two tracks on the Elektro-Misr audio CD, released 2004 in Egypt - both of Omars tracks from that cd ('But I Tried' & 'IsraelStine') are being re-released on a compilation cd due for release in France.
